Ireland is like a social experiment on a tax haven island where the citizens are the lab rats; it's a place to try out new and crazy ideas that no other sane citizen in our neighbouring EU countries would even countenance agreeing to, let alone allow to be put forward for consideration. Except for the bit about having any choices. Or agreeing to anything. You were given Lisbon one and you flunked it - very nicely I might add. But then they spat in your eye and made you try again and this time the vote chose the powers that be. From any other perspective than standing on the bridge on O'Connell Street, Lisbon two was a farce.
Europe will most certainly be watching Paddy and Bridie on this one - it's exponential effects might be none at all or else they'll be devastating.
Having the presence of so many global brands on the ground (Meta/X/EBay/Paypal/Amazon/etc) due to your lenient approach to collecting taxes, they too will be watching closely. The imposition of these laws are tantamount to thought crime being a viable possibility. Site owners too will be watching closely, as well as the anonymous quarter of posters who'd never say in public what they say online.
Bet you wish you spoke Irish as a first language, eh.
