I'm literally slagging off the Admin, I dare him to ban me. I dare him to do what he did the last time, which was to effectively shadow ban me. I dare him to even put me on moderation. Any of that shit and I'm off. I've been around the block too many times with you two losers

Actually, I just watched the special edition DVD the ex-wife gave me a few years back the weekend before last.
And like always, I keep saying to myself: 'I'll just skim through it and watch my favourite bits before bed..'

As it turns out, my one favourite bit is the whole thing from start to finish: it's just so fucking beautifully made in every way.
Definitely in my Top Three desert island movie epics.
 
One of Kubrick's three greatest masterpieces along with The Shining and A Clockwork Orange. Hal 9000 is legit scarier than most modern horror films with their stupid jump scares and over-the-top CGI.


 
I feel the same about Star Wars.

I've tried to be even vaguely interested in it, but every time I make a move and flip it on, wet cement-weight boredom sets in almost immediately.
But I would also say that - even if some say it's a kid's movie - Spielberg's 'Close Encounters Of The Third Kind' is another classic sci-fi epic.
And yeah - it would have been a more all-round/suitable for any age movie if he hadn't shown us the aliens at all.

Along with 'Jaws' - definitely Richard Dreyfuss' best work ever.
