The Actual Music Thread

Liam would disapprove of girl bands, wasn't his whole persona based on the hard man image, like calling Blur 'soft southerners' etc etc.

Blur are shite. Damon Albarn is a cunt, I just want to punch him in the face. As for that Cockney narrator wanker, fuck him too.

This cunt stole my song. I should knock his fucking teeth out.

Isn't that the guy from Quadrophenia?

The fanatic mod who gets lucky with the redheaded girl down an alleyway while the riot's kicking off?

Dave, has anyone ever told you that you're a comic genius? 🤔

No? I didn't think so

That's your best shot at a cynical joke at someone else's expense, Jimmy?

It's kind of sad, is it not?

This Dave fella sounds like a fucking dickhead knock his fucking teeth out.

His is a far better attempt than yours though, Cunty-Baws.
Plus he's far better looking than the Scumbag family Gallagher, innit.

BLACKPINK is my new favourite band

You're really just a little girl, aren't you Jimmy?

☝️

You're just like her, aren't you?

The little pig-tails and a sock in each bra cup to get that push-up effect.

You sad cunt.

He hasn't a fucking clue, our Jimmy.

Blackpink?
Cyndi Lopper
Suzanna Hoffs
Baby Spice
and..

...likely Enya too.

Korean / Japanese culture is weird, but there is something so innocent and endearing about them all at the same time. It wouldn't be unusual to find a group of Japanese tourists standing on Bachelor's Walk boardwalk, photographing a seagull two million times over as if their lives depended on it.

King Crimson: 'Elephant Talk' (LIve TV)

Wonderful intersection of prog and jazz. I always liked The Court of the Crimson King. I remember my dad used to have 60s / early 70s vinyl in the press, including a few King Crimson albums.

Lemmy = legend.

Even looks good in a tuxedo.

Saw them live at Vicar Street years back: I was chaperoning Hot Press magazine's hottest young journalist who knew of Motörhead but didn't know what to expect of the show and had to cover it for the magazine. I was just passing through Dublin on quick visit and arrived from Prague that afternoon. *Kim invited me along to go with her and showed up with a cab about an hour before stage. She's so fucking hot: early twenties, long flowing black hair, little black dress, Doc Marten's, and big red lips like candy.

We had a few beverages in the bar and I gave her the skinny on Lemmy and Motörhead's history and the whole Hawkwind thing.

Then we went up to the gallery, front seats - the smoke was rising onstage and the bright red eyes of the huge skull above the stage began to glow.
Then those glorious and timeless words before things kick off: 'We are Motörhead, and we play rock'n'roll..' (*)

And so a mighty aural assault ensues, they start with 'Bomber' and Fast Eddie Clarke's searing tones rip the room apart.

Of course, you had to wait until the encore to hear this one:

But when they did play it, it was over way too soon.

Hella night, Jimmy.

She did a few E's afterwards and we partied all night.

When was the last time you partied all night with a hot young thing, Jimmy?

If ever?

The period with Adrian Belew, Tony Levin, and Bill Bruford was the best for my ears. Belew's guitar playing is one of a kind. He's done so many amazing gigs. Talking Heads used him, as did Frank Zappa (who actually gave him his first proper break) but Fripp wasn't swayed by his conjuring antics. Fripp's a purist. For him, laughing while you're playing is a no-no. Which was impossible for him whenever Belew did a solo.

Monster guitarist, can make the damned thing speak in Japanese.

Those of you with working ears will know that this one's mostly in the same key as King Crimson's 'Elephant Talk'
